Nancy Napp
Plant Ecologist

Ms. Napp is an ecologist specializing in riparian and wetland ecology, restoration ecology, and plant taxonomy. Nancy has worked on a wide variety of projects with State and Federal agencies, private organizations and universities. She has designed and implemented restoration projects in wetland, riparian, and upland habitats. Nancy has led inventory teams, conducted data analysis projects, and worked in many settings with people from a variety of backgrounds.

Project Experience:

  • Coordinated the restoration of native vegetation on the Mt. Hood Meadows Overpass Project, Mt. Hood, Oregon.
  • Collected and compiled information regarding potential natural vegetation for riparian areas in Oregon.
  • Wetland specialist for ecological risk assessment of flora and fauna in contact with contaminated groundwater, Rifle and Grand Junction, Colorado, and Shiprock, New Mexico.
  • Wetland restoration specialist for a wetland mitigation project in Rifle, Colorado.
  • Led the riparian inventory of Sycan Marsh Preserve, south central Oregon.
  • Lead Ecologist on a National Resource Inventory Team with the Bureau of Land Management in western Colorado.
  • Data analyst on a project using multivariate data analysis techniques to determine successional stages of rangeland vegetation types on Comanche National Grasslands, southeastern Colorado.
  • Designed and established the wetland inventory and monitoring on the Colorado State Forest in the northern Colorado Rockies.
  • Led the riparian inventory team on a 2-year resource inventory of North Park, Colorado. Coordinated data analysis and designed database management for the resulting inventory data, both riparian and upland.
  • Created an herbarium of 500 pressed plant specimens for North Park, Colorado.
  • Conducted multivariate data analysis of data from a mycorrhizal fungi/pine tree root gap study, Laramie, Wyoming.
